GTC History
GTC Industrias Eléctricas is a family business founded by Sergio Troncoso and Erika Castillo.
Sergio, manager of ROLEC (now EATON), and Erika, a public sector worker, started the project in their own garage, focusing on building electrical rooms for their first major client, Anglo American.
Thanks to this opportunity, the company grew and diversified its services, integrating maintenance and electromechanical modernization.
The Early Years of GTC
In 2003, GTC established its headquarters in Recoleta, Santiago de Chile, where it began operating an electromechanical workshop with the capacity to perform repairs and retrofit work.
Later on, in 2015, the company opened its administrative offices in a modern building in the Providencia district.
Today, GTC has long-term contracts in the mining industry and with power generators, consolidating its position in the market.
Commitment to quality and the environment
In 2017, GTC achieved ISO trinorm certification, reinforcing its commitment to quality, safety and environmental sustainability.
In 2023 we reached a key milestone by completing our first “zero carbon” operation, managing the project’s carbon footprint, and offsetting emissions that could not be reduced.
GTC stands out for offering solutions that promote the circular economy, focusing on extending the useful life of electrical assets through maintenance, modernization and retrofit services.
These services not only optimize equipment performance, but also contribute to waste reduction and more efficient use of resources, in line with the sustainability principles that guide our operations.
The present and future of GTC
Under the leadership of the second generation, GTC continues to innovate and expand its portfolio of services. Currently, the company is in the process of certification in carbon footprint management, demonstrating its commitment to sustainability and environmental protection.
With an experience spanning more than two decades, GTC continues to be a reference in electrical, mechanical and automation engineering, supporting key sectors such as mining, energy and cellulose.
